The board is noticeably thinner than traditional wooden boards and may feel hard under the knife at first, but softens quickly in use, and is more knife-friendly than a plastic cutting board. The heat resistance of compressed wood fiber is also significantly higher than that of a traditional wooden board, so it can be used as a pan trivet without worry. Biopulp boards are NSF approved and therefore meet strict hygiene requirements. Board size is 24 x 14 cm and thickness is 6.5 mm.
Scratches on the surface of the board that occur during use can be removed with fine sandpaper, but this is often unnecessary as the scratches are only a cosmetic issue.
